Overview
This article provides some important configuration requirements to be checked when inbound faxes sent through FaxMaker Online are not being received in the Allscripts EHR system.
Solution
Third-party applications such as Allscripts EHR can be configured to download and receive faxes directly from the GFI FaxMaker Online servers through the Inbound Web Services (IWS) API.
When the connection between FaxMaker Online and the Allscripts EHR system is not established successfully, inbound faxes will not be received in the EHR.
The problem can be resolved by following these steps:
- Ensure the inbound fax format is set to TIF-HiRes format that AllScripts expects as described in this article.
- The receiving method for the user account in use should be set to Inbound Web Service as described in Credentials to be used for Receiving Faxes through Inbound Web Services.
- Reset the password for the user account used for interacting with the FaxMaker Online Inbound Web Services (IWS) and configure the new credentials in the AllScripts EHR application.
Refer to the attached external document for additional information on the required configurations to be done on the Allscripts side (or any other third-party system) to establish a successful connection with FaxMaker Online.
Testing
Successful connection between FaxMaker Online and Allscrips can be confirmed by sending a test inbound fax which should be successfully retrieved by the EHR system.
