Overview
This article provides information on a critical additional step for new FaxMaker Online customers who have been assigned a fax number but are unable to send outbound fax yet they can receive faxes without any problems.
Information
Starting Jan 01, 2020, all new FaxMaker Online accounts have international faxing disabled by default. This is due to people starting free trials and making fraudulent calls that cost GFI and the carrier money, which cannot be charged back to the customer as no pages were sent.
When using GFI FaxMaker Online, all faxes are sent to originate from the U.S. therefore any outbound fax by customers assigned non-US/Canada fax numbers will by definition be an international fax.
For this reason, new FaxMaker Online customers assigned non-US/Canada fax numbers should submit a support request requesting to have international faxing enabled for their account before they can start sending faxes outside North America.

Support agents should proceed as follows once a request to enable international faxing is received:
- Open a support case with Concord to have international faxing enabled for the number. Refer to Opening a Support Case with Concord for important information on how and when to open the support case with Concord Premium Support.
- Inform the customer that you will update the ticket as soon as you receive feedback from the Server Team.
