GFI FaxMaker Online allows only one number to be assigned to a user at a time therefore it is necessary to first Unassign the currently assigned user before assigning the same number to another user.
This article provides the resolution steps when the following error is encountered when Unassigning the user, thereby stopping the re-assignment process: "The specified number has not been assigned to that user".
This error can sometimes occur even when the administrator portal indicates that the number is still assigned to the user.
If you are unable to remove and re-assign a fax number to a different user due to the above error, the likely scenario is that the fax number is no longer assigned to the user and you should therefore skip the unassigning step and proceed to directly assign the fax number to the intended user; following the steps described in Assigning Numbers to Users in FaxMaker Online.
The Fax Pool Overview widget displays the fax numbers available in your account. Clicking on your location should show the fax number reassigned to the new user.
