Overview
The GFI FaxMaker Online Inbound Web Services (IWS) APIs enable third-party business applications to download faxes directly from the GFI FaxMaker Online servers.
One such application that is commonly used in the Healthcare industry is Allscripts TouchWorks® EHR. Customers relying on the IWS integration can sporadically experience garbled or incomplete inbound faxes that are hard to read getting received into Allscripts.
This article provides some important information to be configured in FaxMaker Online in order to mitigate the issue of garbled or incomplete faxes when receiving inbound fax into Allscripts.
Solution
When using FaxMaker Online Inbound Web Services (IWS) to receive inbound fax, the Allscripts application expects that inbound faxes will arrive in the TIF-HiRes format.
Follow these steps to change the inbound fax format to the TIF-HiRes format that AllScripts recommends:
- Log in to the Administrator Portal and navigate to Settings > Departments.
- Locate and select the Department containing the user being used to receive faxes through IWS
- Go to the Fax tab and select TIF-HiRes for the Fax Settings as shown below:
Testing
The above steps should resolve the issue with garbled or incomplete faxes. Send a test fax after making the changes and confirm that the fax was fully received and is legible and easy to read.
